Zeeman has chosen the integrated POS payment solution from PayPlaza.
The electronic Point-of-Sale payment system is based on one multifunctional platform for all 1.200 stores of Zeeman in the BeNeLux, France, Austria, Spain and Germany the WAN connectivity is provided by Global Cloud Xchange.
Zeeman is not only benefiting from cost reductions on implementation, maintenance and support, but also from lower transaction and connectivity costs.
“These are substantial annual savings”,
says Albert van Bolderen, CFO from Zeeman.
Other local processors can be connected to the PayPlaza platform, which is an important element for international payments. Additional savings are realized at administration and on IT support & maintenance, by working with only one ECR and one uniform reporting tool, with real time information on the money flows per store, region, country, etc.
All Zeeman stores will work with one payment terminal, IPP350, on the PayPlaza payment platform. This is a desk terminal that is integrated easy via the cloud to the existing ECR system. The IPP350 is a compact terminal with large buttons and including NFC. The payment terminal delivers a high speed performance in combination with the PayPlaza payment platform.
Zeeman is now also able to centrally control the whole terminal base, where in the past this was a de-central job for each of the 7 countries. This generates already a substantial reduction in annual costs. All employees have also to be instructed to only one payment platform, generating other benefits on synergy, time reduction and preventing errors. In addition to the cost reductions on transaction fees and lower fixed costs, Zeeman is able to reduce the Total Cost of Ownership of the whole POS payment infrastructure and increase the return at the store floor. That is an important issue in a time where consumers have less money to spend and e-Commerce and other sales channels claim their place in retail.
